Pricing

The first question we hear about Navman is what does it cost? Without sounding political, let us simply say that the value exceeds the expense. Still, we recognize there is an expense associated with the use of Navman and it must be considered as a part of the decision making process, so that is the purpose of providing the information available on this web page. Obviously, there are always variables, but for most of those we serve, the information provided is applicable.
Let’s start with a few basic assumptions. Most people choose our five year lease program with rare exceptions. The main exceptions are end of the year buyers who want to take a 100% current year deduction in a tax year where it basically comes down to giving the money to the IRS or investing it in something of benefit. The second exception is the governmental user intending to apply for a grant which will not fund a continuing expense. There is also the very rare exception where the potential user has excess cash or operates on a contractual or cost plus basis. Public utilities and transportation providers are notable examples.
Pricing on our most popular lease plan is as follows:
GPS Tracking including fuel management reports - 5 year monthly lease rate - $42.99
GPS Tracking, messaging, and navigation - Our most popular plan - $62.99
Both of these plans include vehicle status updates at 10 minute intervals which is suitable for most applications. In addition to the automatic updates, you can query any desired vehicle with instant location reporting as required. If you wish, you can have 5 minute update intervals for an additional $2 per month or 2 minute intervals for an additional $8 per month.
There is no special equipment required at your office. You can monitor vehicle activity using a standard PC and Internet connection. If you intend to use 2-way text messaging, you should have a high speed Internet connection (Cable, DSL, etc.) since the Web client software is generally set to be always on for reception of emergency or routine status messages sent from fleet vehicles.
For those who wish to purchase outright, the prices are as follows:
GPS Tracking including fuel management reports - $2,579.40
GPS Tracking, messaging, and navigation - Our most popular plan - $3,779.40
First time installation and maintenance is included. Standard package includes web client, software, and network costs for 5 years with vehicle status updates at 10 minute intervals. Add $120 for an upgrade to 5 minute status intervals or $480 for 2 minute intervals. After five years, you have the choice of replacing your system at comparable costs or to continue using your existing equipment and paying a small monthly fee for web client, software, and network service fees.
Does this system really save more than it costs?
In our Short Stories section, you will see specific examples of how Navman reduces fuel costs and operating expense while improving productivity and improving relations with those you serve. We conclude with this parting comment. Basic GPS tracking with fuel management reports has a cost of $42.99 monthly. That works out to $1.41 per day. Assuming fuel to be $3.50 per galloN, this equates to a real cost of less than a half gallon of gas. Assuming a gas consumption rate of 15 miles per gallon, you would have your payback by saving less than 15 driving miles. Assuming a basic labor rate with benefits of $20 per hour and an average driving speed of 60 mph, you can figure all kinds of savings by eliminating non-productive driving or improving driver productivity. That's why we say that Navman doesn't cost - IT PAYS!
